Candidate Profile:

 

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY OF THE POST:

To assist in ensuring that the Park is maintained and overseen to the highest possible standards in accordance with the Park Management Plan for the enjoyment, recreation and safety of visitors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Park & Garden Maintenance

Carry out general grounds maintenance in all areas of the Park to achieve high standards of horticulture and presentation.

Construct and install horticultural features to improve the Park’s appearance and facilities.

Carry out skilled land management operations such as pruning, seeding, turf laying, planting etc. as required to achieve high horticultural standards.

Maintain trees to high arboricultural standards and for public safety. 

Supervise and maintain the children’s playground and paddling pool to enable children to enjoy this facility safely.

Collect sports fees, issue tickets and account for cash to ensure that the income of the Park is maximised.

Carry out renovation, maintenance and final preparation of sports facilities to ensure a good standard of playing surface and accurately marked out pitches.

Clean and maintain buildings, drains, paths, park furniture etc. to ensure that facilities are safe and clean in the Park.

Operate and maintain machinery, vehicles and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Assist with maintenance and operational duties in West Ham Park Nursery.
