Job Role:
To assist the Commissioning Support Manager, Commissioners and Contract Monitoring Officer in the work of the Commissioning Support Unit supporting the implementation of the older people and physically disabled division’s business plan.
|
As a member of the Commissioning Support Unit Team to take individual and collective professional responsibility for championing the council’s diversity agenda and proactively implementing initiatives which secure equality of access and outcomes. Also to commit to continually developing personal understanding of diversity.

Job Description:
Understanding of Local Authority funding, contracting and/or accreditation processes
Understanding of legal and regulatory framework relevant to the social care services monitored e.g. national minimum care standards, food hygiene regulations
Experience and understanding of equalities issues in relation to employment and service provision
Experience and understanding of good practice in relation to health and safety issues and their relevance to care practices , e.g. medication, manual handling, COSHH, fire safety

Good interpersonal skills to support working in partnership with service users and their carers, care providers and their staff and a range of professionals to achieve outcomes.
Ability to communicate effectively – both verbally and in writing
Able to prepare reports and assist in the drafting of specifications setting out standards of practice for service providers
Able to effectively prioritise and manage own workload
Ability to set standards, develop recording systems and processes and organise contract monitoring
Experience of and ability to investigate complaints
Ability to negotiate with suppliers to obtain best value within the corporate framework
Ability to provide sound advice and guidance to service users and Council staff and problem solve
Evidence of sound administrative, organisational and financial skills
Experience and understanding of using database and word processing packages

Experience/understanding of working within a social care setting working with service providers
Experience of operating quality assurance systems
|
Ability to work flexible hours
Ability to travel within the borough
